About Us
Building people, building communities, building opportunity.
Impact for Community Development is an international nonprofit based in the United States, working alongside communities around the world — with proven programs in Egypt.
Who we are
An organization that grows with the people it serves.
Impact began in 2023 with a clear purpose: to build bridges of lasting hope for refugees, migrants and marginalized communities across Egypt. What started as a vision has grown into an organization working today in Cairo, Alexandria, Aswan and Al-Minya.
Our work rests on four pillars — education, health, sport and economic empowerment — and aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals 3, 4, 5 and 8: good health, quality education, gender equality, and decent work and economic growth.

Mission
We create sustainable development solutions that equip marginalized communities with skills, meaningful support and pathways to employment — building resilience, economic stability and a more secure future.
Vision
Communities that are overlooked today have what they need to thrive — through education, health, sport and economic opportunity that last for generations.
Our story
From a vision to measurable impact.
2023
Impact is founded
Impact for Community Development begins its work in Egypt, serving refugees, migrants and marginalized communities. Early sports days, educator trainings and community events take place in Cairo.
2023
Mazaji camp and the IOM emergency response
The Mazaji emotional-awareness camp is delivered with the support of UNICEF. With IOM, Impact trains 74 teachers and reaches 200 young people, and trains 124 participants in business, sewing and photography.
Nov 2023
The Impact Sewing Factory opens
Three employees start production in Ain Shams, Cairo — the first step from training to employment.
2024
The Impact Sports Academy kicks off
The academy launches with 40 young players, combining football with a socio-emotional curriculum.
2025
Growing reach across Egypt
Impact serves 1,652 people, opens workshops in Alexandria and Aswan, pilots child-caregiving training with IECD, launches the Train to Hire program with WFP, and introduces its own product brands.
2026
Looking beyond borders
With 1,665 people served in 2026 so far — and 1,366 trained through Train to Hire since October 2025 — Impact is building partnerships to bring its locally grounded model further — with Cyprus in development.

Our approach
How we work
- 01
Listen first
Programs start with needs assessments, focus groups and conversations with community leaders — so that what we build fits real lives.
- 02
Serve the whole person
Education, health, sport and livelihoods reinforce each other. A parent with an income, a child in a safe classroom and a young person on a team all strengthen the same family.
- 03
Link skills to work
Training is designed with employers and connected to real jobs — including in our own sewing factory.
- 04
Follow up and measure
We track participation and outcomes, follow up with graduates after training, and report to our partners against agreed indicators.
Our values
What guides us
Dignity
Every person we work with is a capable partner in their own future.
Inclusion
Our programs are open to Egyptian and refugee communities alike — regardless of nationality or background.
Collaboration
No organization can do this alone. We build with communities, agencies, companies and local institutions.
Transformation
We aim for change that lasts beyond a single program — in skills, livelihoods and confidence.
Where we work
Four cities in Egypt — and new horizons.
Select a location
