The pathway

Skills → Employment → Income → Opportunity

  1. 01

    Skills

Market-driven sewing and embroidery training, combined with business skills.

  2. 02

    Employment

Graduates are hired into the factory and partner workshops — 30% of women trained over the past year were employed.

  3. 03

    Income

Stable, full-time work for 85 staff, with access to health support for employees.

  4. 04

    Opportunity

Own brands — Naseej by Impact, Beams and Osoul — with first exports shipped.

The story

Impact Factory: starting from 3 people in a workshop

For us, the factory is about much more than production. It is a place where people gain practical skills, find stable employment, build confidence and create a better future for themselves and their families.

  1. 01

    The challenge

Training alone does not pay the rent. Women who complete vocational courses — many of them refugees — often struggle to find stable, fairly paid work.

  2. 02

    What Impact did

In November 2023, Impact put its vision for sustainable employment into practice by opening a sewing factory in Ain Shams, Cairo — creating a direct route from the training room to the production floor.

  3. 03

    Who took part

85 full-time staff today, 40% of whom are Sudanese. Over the past year, more than 700 women were trained in sewing.

  4. 04

    What changed

30% of the women trained over the past year were employed. The factory produces around 70,000 pieces a month, and new workshops have opened in Alexandria and Aswan.

  5. 05

    What comes next

Impact is developing its own product lines — Naseej by Impact, Beams and Osoul — to grow sales, exports and the number of stable jobs.
