The challenge
Young refugees in Cairo often have few safe spaces to play, little structure outside school and limited access to coaching or competitive pathways.
- 02
What Impact did
Impact founded the Sports Academy with structured seasons, qualified coaching and a socio-emotional curriculum — and keeps regular contact with every player’s family.
- 03
Who took part
The academy began with 40 players and works with 43 today.
- 04
What changed
Two six-month seasons, including a three-month summer program, have built football skills, teamwork and personal growth. Five to seven players under 15 have been identified for potential first-division trials.
- 05
What comes next
Impact plans to open a football academy for girls, extending the same opportunities to more young people.
