The challenge
Vulnerable Egyptian and refugee job-seekers need skills that match what employers are actually looking for — not generic courses.
- 02
What Impact did
With the World Food Programme, Impact ran focus groups, needs assessments and round-table discussions with nursery owners, sewing-factory owners and hotel managers, then designed curricula combining technical sessions, hands-on practice and a business component.
- 03
Who took part
1,366 people across three phases (Oct 2025 – Sep 2026): 780 in Cairo, 305 in Alexandria and 281 in Aswan. 74% are women; 715 are Egyptian and 651 are refugees, most of them from Sudan.
- 04
What changed
200 graduates are now earning an income — 144 as self-employed entrepreneurs and 56 in paid jobs. In Phase 2 alone, 166 of 300 graduates (55%) found work. Impact secured partnerships with employers in every vocation to open post-training opportunities.

What comes next
Follow-up calls one and three weeks after graduation, plus coordinator-led support groups, help graduates take the next step into work.
